an update at last!

It must take quite a momentous occasion for me to finally update my journal.

But this really isn't that special of an occasion. I have decided to join the forces that are here to cement the dominance of the one true race, and spread the wondrous music of Prussian Blue.

Some of you may have heard of Prussian Blue, as the two preteen blonde haired and blue eyed twin girls sang beautifully of their heritage and their desire its continual prosperity. Well, their first album infiltrated many circles mainly due to people's inexplicable love of irony.

Well, their new album has been released to the masses, and its catchy pop goodness has reached a new level. All of you should take a listen, ignoring some unsettling lyrics at first (truthfully, only half the songs have questionable lyrics, and they are only really questionable if you know the underlying meaning), and let the sweet supremacy hidden beneath slowly infiltrate your mind.

This album has been fully and unironically endorsed by Sean. Enjoy.

Two methods to enjoy:
My Server (please conserve the precious bandwidth), and everybody's favourite pink purveyor of music Oink's

I gots me a rad email from my uncle

I was delighted to read this email tonight, it made me laugh, probably too much. I know the intentions are good, but it is still funny:

"Sean

I spent a few days in Vancouver this weekend with friends. They will be moving to Trinidad next month for 15 months. They have two daughters who will be staying in Vancouver in their condo townhouse in Burnaby.

I'm not trying to fix you up or anything, (I imagine you're OK on your own). Christina is about 21 and doing a business major at SFU (3rd year). Elise is about 23 and in Arts (Fine Arts, not the generic BA degree) at UBC (4th year). Elise has offered to show you around UBC some if you want.

Christina will probably study to become a chef after she finishes business. If she offers to cook for you, definitely accept the offer. She's really good.

I think you'd like both of them. I do. Might be somebody to get to know early on. I'm sure they'd introduce you to others as well. They both said to give them a call.

It might be that they could use a bit of help with the house occasionally with their parents gone."

I think it is totally worth a call.

They are safe. That is good.

For some reason there isn't a feeling of relief coursing through my body. I don't feel any different. I have tried doing this a couple times, and I have been advised many times to carry it through: I need to cut her off. I don't know if I am doing any good anymore. So I need to pick up so I don't get fucked over by this. Depression is no fun (not that I am really depressed, this is just the first real experience I have had with it).

I did write a draft for a "last ditch effort" email where I pretty much got mad at Emily for fucking herself over. The gist of it is that if she continues with her current destructive ways, I will have to leave. I don't know if it will do anything of any significance whatsoever, but I figure one last angry letter couldn't hurt. She needs to take a step back and look at her life without emotion clouding her vision. I am hoping that she will see where her decisions have taken her recently and realize that this isn't doing her any good.

I probably won't send the email though, as I find angst driven emails can be bad news. Maybe a final confrontation or something will be effective. Or maybe I shouldn't cut her off so abruptly? Maybe it would be better to just let things drift apart as they are now; however, I feel an abrupt solution would bring closure. Closure is good.

It's been awhile. A lot has happened.

I don't know what to think anymore. This Emily thing has gotten out of hand. Even though I have taken a step back and let things happen... I still find myself be worried and depressed about the whole thing.

She is a very different person now. And it hurts to see that. The Emily I used to know was more relaxed and calm. After we broke up and she got together with Seanna (I am not trying to make her sound like a scapegoat, but I can't help thinking that way sometimes), she started to change. I guess all of this was underlying before, and has now come out in the open. But she is now very volatile (I think that may have subsided a bit though) and makes rash decisions. She has completely abandoned her family and moved in with Seanna. I just need to give this more time to pass. I need to get over Emily. Why is this so hard?

This is mainly spurred by a phonecall I got tonight. It was Emily from a payphone. It turns out that Seanna and Emily misread the bus schedule, and were stranded at Thompson Park Mall at 11pm. They wanted to know if I could come pick them up and drop them off at Costco so they could hitchhike to Vancouver. I guess I may be a little conservative, but I think hitchhiking in general is a bad idea. Especially when you have two girls, 17 and 16, hitchhiking alone in the middle of the night. The fact that Emily has no money right now isn't helping calm my thoughts.

Fuck.

I am being stupid, but i can't stop.

So Emily and I broke up. it is unfortunate that it had to happen... I still really liked her when we did it. unfoetunately a conflict of beliefs was to great to overcome.

I tried to compromise before, but I couldn't overcome it. I unfortunately had to make Emily choose between this belief and me... she wasn't able to compromise though. I guess it is to ingrained in her personality. I am not mad at her, and she is not mad at me. I hate it when people belittle her to make me feel better.

this was my first relationship. it was unfortunately short, but not bad.

I have been feeling a flurry of emotions after breakin

I don't usually get mad...

I am not one to usually get mad at people when they are being complete assholes. Even when they have every right to be screamed at for screwing you over.
I should have yelled at someone today.

Once upon a time in a summer that was one year ago, I worked at a gas station called Esso. At first my boss seemed like a nice guy, and I figured I wouldn't have any problems. Well, he turned out to be mediocre, but that didn't phase me. Anyway, I eventually got out of that place as I had a better job at Convergys (better paying at least).

So, fast forward to good old tax time. I have a T4 from everyone but him. I don't think it is too big of a deal, just some mailing error. About a month ago, I track down good old Andrew's new number (he is my boss, and having been relieved of owning the Esso, he had to find new employment). I give him a ring, and he sounds puzzled that I did not get it. Nevertheless he does say he will mail it out to me ASAP. About 2-3 weeks later, no T4. My mother decided to call him this time. She says he is supposed to call me back about it the next day. The next day comes, and passes, and there is no phone call to be found.

The current date is today. I am about to do some running around, and I have to finish my taxes within 3 days. I give Andrew a ring at work;

"Thank you for calling Kal-Tire, Andrew speaking."
"Hey Andrew, this is Sean Clark"
"Hey Sean, I know what you are calling about, but I can't talk about it at work. I just want to say that I have tomorrow off, and a bunch of stuff to get sorted out. I will call you tomorrow"
"No problem, I have an exam till noon tomorrow, then I need to do some running around. I will come pick it up from your house. Can I have your phone number?"
"No, I will call you tomorrow"

FUCK. That totally pissed me off. I should have screamed at that asshole. Not once in any conversations with him did I raise my voice, or sound anything other then friendly. I didn't really want to get pissed off, as I figured it would have no use. As long as I get it before taxes are due.

Now, tomorrow is looking very busy for me. I don't know when I can fit all this shit in, let alone be at home long enough to get a call from him. I have an exam at 9am till 12pm, then I have to retreat out to Ryan's cabin for some end of the semester shenanigans. After that, I am heading straight to Vancouver for the weekend. I don't have time for shit like this. FUCK.

And I would continue the tradition and sculpt he landscape of my upper thigh (that is my line!)

So. We left for Vancouver at 6. Good times commenced with O-Zone and whatnot. Then, in Abbotsford, we had a flat tire. So Lindsey, Cori and I retired to the local Booster Juice (tm), while Braydan and Lisa went to remedy the situation. A few hours later, we are still here.

Fortunately, at one point, lots of hot ladies came in. And Cori decided to start a little conversation to ease the pass of time. We each took turns typing into a text editor, and came up with this gem of prose:

-----------------

see... i vote lindsey goes and helps them gr.12 females with their math work :D:D

I have planned an X Files marathon on Saturday. It of course is going to start early (probably 10ish). It will start with whatever episode I am currently on (probably 2x10 or something around there). I think we should break out some chips, pops, and a sourdough loaf. It will be grand. If you are planning on attending this, leave a comment. I will let you know the venue and other minute details as they become available.

I am in an overly wordy mood.

Well, sometimes interesting moods happen to interesting people. This afternoon, mostly out of sheer relentless boredom, I decided to stop using the depth of grammar and punctuation that MSN truly deserves, and bestow upon it something greater. I needed to show it the true beauty of the written word. My good friend Lindsey was greatly impressed by this transformation of mine, and begged of me to write something deep and meaningful, something to truly take advantage of this infrequent mood.

Now is the time to fully grasp and understand these words that are gracefully spilling from my mind. I am now going to educate you on a wondrous new mathematical theory. I have dubbed it the "h4 quotient". To put it simply, this is a measure of the hilarity embedded in a written, spoken, or signed statement. The equation is deceptively simple:

H = "ha"^h

Where:

H = Embedded Hilarity

"ha" = The actual string "ha"

h = The h4 quotient

I understand if my uneducated readers are not following this description thus far. So, to guide all of you along, here are a few examples:

ha (h4 = 0)
hahaha (h4 = 2)
hahahahahahahahahahaha (h4 = 10)

And now some example statements, their response, and the h4 quotient for the given statement:

"Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side!"

"Ha." h4 = 0

"Your birth mother is so fat, that when she unfortunately fell
and broke her leg, gravy spewed forth from her horrid wound"

"Hahaha" h4 = 2

So, as can be seen from these examples, the h4 quotient is directly proportional to how funny a statement will come across.

Unfortunately, not everyone's humour is cut and dry. Throughout your adventurous travels, you may have come across certain people who misrepresent themselves. I like to call a specimen from this class Le Lipitilial Mamamerial Recticus, which means "The one mammal without ingrained humour" in Latin. The Latin spelling is usually abbreviated using the hard consonants to come up with the common form: LLLLMMMR, or further shortened, they become L4M3Rs.

The current form of the h4 quotient does not take into account the breadth of L4M3R-ness apparent throughout humanity; therefore, we must embellish it:

H = "ha"^h
Where h (the perceived hilarity) now becomes:
h = h<sub>t</sub> + l

ht = The true hilarity of the statement.
l = The amount of L4M3R-ness in the person.

The L4M3R-ness of a person is unfortunately highly subjective; therefore, a baseline must be made. For obvious reasons, I chose myself to be the baseline. Setting my L4M3R-ness at 0 would make perfect sense, but, due to the deep well of popularity and exuberance that is my personality, this would create a highly bottom heavy scale for which to rate people on. My rating must therefore get a positive handicap. To poetically parallel the Celsius scale, I have chosen my L4M3R-ness to be 100 (equivalent to the "boiling point"), and the average to be 0 (equivalent to the "freezing point"). I have just recently submitted an application to the government to have all Canadian citizens personality profiled each year, and have their scientifically proven L4M3R-ness stamped on their forehead (alongside various product advertisements to fund the tests). This would make it much easier for a person to gauge the level of their humour. Even though this proposal is being rushed as hastily as possible through the rusty framework of lies, greed, and promiscuity that is our government, there may be a significant amount of time before you can accurately measure the hilarity passed off in one of your statements by reading a small number, lying next to a Wheaties advertisement, on your friends forehead. In the meantime, a mixture of careful statistical mathematics, research, and psycho-analytical probing sense must be used.

Now that all my dear readers have been introduced to this remarkable breakthrough, I hope you all can begin spreading the word. Use the h4 quotient as many situations as possible to hone your humour to a fine, steely, skin breaking point.

I just set up my own bittorrent tracker and am looking to get a bit of use from it. So, I figured, instead of telling people to download some cool new album over msn, I will blog about it and include a nice torrent for them to download it off of me. I think this will lead to good things. Everyone should join in the blog-an-album craze I am starting.

But anyway, to start it off, here is a new album I have being enjoying muchly:
The Arcade Fire - Funeral (do the usual right click > save link/target as if you are having problems downloading)

Download and leech away! But remember kids, cool people seed. So remember to keep those torrents open after you are finished downloading!

So, it is 3am in the morning. and i was trying to flesh out a rad website design, but that didnt turn out. so out of curiousity i started browsing around in my documents. i found plenty of goodies. This is from the golden days of flash, back when it would be the first program i would open on my computer. it turns out i made some pretty nifty things.

(click here for a flash THRILL RIDE)
